La galería Espacio Mínimo inicia la temporada con la segunda individual en su espacio del artista español afincado en Nueva York MARTÍ CORMAND. El título de la exposición La pared amarilla, tiene su origen en la anécdota en la que Marcel Proust narra el episodio de la muerte del escritor Bergotte, que fallece mientras contempla un detalle, apenas visible, en el famoso cuadro Vista de Delft, de Vermeer: un muro amarillo iluminado por el sol. De ese pedazo de pared amarilla se han escrito artículos, ensayos filosóficos, libros de poemas… El protagonismo de lo anecdótico, aparte de ser un signo de nuestro tiempo, encierra a su vez algunas cuestiones estéticas: el carácter fragmentario de las obras, las relaciones entre las artes o el arte dentro del arte.
Galería Espacio Mínimo begins the season with the second solo show in its space by MARTÍ CORMAND, the Spanish artist based in New York. The title of the exhibition, The Yellow Wall, has its origin in the anecdote in which Marcel Proust narrates the episode of the death of the writer Bergotte, who dies while contemplating a barely visible detail in the famous painting View of Delft, by Vermeer: a yellow wall illuminated by the sun. Articles, philosophical essays, and books of poems have been written about that piece of yellow wall... The prominence of the anecdotal, apart from being a sign of our time, also contains other referents, such as the fragmentary nature of the works, the relationships between the arts, or art within art, among others.
